You’ve probably wanted to play for a long time, but for some reason you’ve been putting it off
We’re always busy, aren’t we? And that’s probably a big reason you’ve never got around to learning how to play guitar. Learning the guitar is a bit of a commitment. You need to dedicate time and energy to learning this new skill, so putting it off is often easier than doing it.
And yet, when we put things off that sound really cool, fun and gratifying, it’s a little disappointing, isn’t it? Imagine if you had started playing guitar 1, 5, or even 10 years ago. How much fun would be having today, playing your favorite songs, jamming with your friends, or just playing for your own enjoyment?
It’s difficult to take that first step when all you can see is a 10,000 mile long road ahead
This is a big reason people want to play guitar, but never get around to it. There’s all kinds of things to learn – chords, strumming, scales, timing, songs, picking, etc., and it seems like a daunting task. Where should you start? What should you learn first, second, third? How do you get from knowing nothing to being able to play with ease?
What you need is a roadmap for getting from point A to point B – without going the long way
Let me tell you about Jerry, who is pictured below on this page. Jerry came to me and said he didn’t think he could learn guitar because he had taken two years of lessons prior and got nowhere. He told me he didn’t think he was talented enough to learn the guitar.
Jerry came in, we talked, and he signed up. After just a few months of lessons Jerry was amazed at how far he had come, and he’s been a student ever since.
With my instruction and your commitment, you can have the same success Jerry has had
Here are a few reason you can have the same success:
Reason 1: I do not rely on students being naturally gifted or talented, I teach them how to develop the skills they need.
Reason 2: Students, on average, receive far more instructional time with me than they do with other teachers.
Reason 3: Science based training techniques are the bedrock of my lessons.
One of the problems you’ll face as a guitarist is not knowing what to do outside of lessons
This is what I faced even when I was in college. How should I practice? How long? How often? What I can’t seem to overcome a challenge I face? Am I talented enough to do this? What if I’m just not good enough to play the way I want?
By following my program, you’ll know exactly what to do each week
I will take the mystery out of what to do next. You’ll know what to work on each week, and I will teach you how to practice during your lessons so there’s no confusion about what you should do.
“Before taking lessons with Nicholas, I found the lessons to very complicated. I had come to the believe I didn’t have the ability learn, but with the techniques Nicholas uses, the lessons are easy to understand and I’m learning faster than I would have imagined.
After just a few months, I can use scales to improvise and play riffs up and down the neck. I always thought lead guitar players had all the notes on the neck memorized. I thought they just flew up and down the neck just picking out the right notes. I had no clue that what they were doing was based on scales. I’ve learned how to save time and practice more effectively, and I’m able to find bar chord shapes on my own by using hand out sheets given to me in my lesson.
My favorite part of the lessons are that they are fun and when I leave I feel like I’ve learned something I can use.
It still amazes me the progress I’ve made in only 3 months. The lessons I tried before just weren’t geared for the way I learn, and that made them difficult and not fun at all. I probably stuck it out a lot longer than I should of with my other lessons because I really thought eventually everything would just click. It didn’t. So after 2 years of trying I finally through in the towel. Flash forward several years I decided I’d like to try taking lessons again. I contacted Nicholas and told him about my prior experiences and that I may just not have the ability to learn. He said was pretty sure he could help me. I couldn’t be happier so far!
If you’re thinking about taking lessons, I would tell you not to waste time taking lessons with anyone else.”
So, what will you learn in your lessons?
- Master the basics of guitar – without forming any bad habits: It’s very easy to form bad habits when you’re learning something new because you simply don’t know what’s right and what’s wrong. With my training, you’ll learn how to avoid or overcome bad habits so you don’t take any detours along the way.
- A comprehensive, systematic approach to mastering chords: Chords is the first big hurdle every guitarist needs to overcome, and many beginners get stuck right here, however, I’ve developed a systematic approach to learning and mastering chords and chord changes so you can play your favorite songs sooner rather than later
- How to practice effectively at home: I remember practicing at home when I was a teenager, and frankly I had no idea what I was doing. Unfortunately, many teachers do not train their students how to practice, which leads to poor results. In my program, I train you how to use specific techniques to improve your playing every time you practice
- The right way to strum so your rhythm doesn’t sound choppy and awkward: Even people who have played for years (sometimes decades!) have this problem, and yet it’s easily fixed with a small change to the way you strum. I’ll show you the right way from the very beginning so you don’t end up feeling rhythmically challenged.
- How to practice chord changes so they become smooth and easy: This is what trips people up the most when they’re trying to play a song. They can strum a chord just fine, but when they have to move to the next chord there’s this awkward hesitation. My techniques eliminate the hesitation so your songs sounds like…a song!
- What “Intense Isolation Practice” is and how it can transform your playing: The process of learning guitar is really about finding problems and then fixing them. By zeroing in on a specific problem or technique, I will help you overcome each problem, one at a time, until you can play easily and fluidly.
- Cool riffs that are easy to play and sound awesome: The best part of playing guitar is that it’s fun! But how do you have fun when you literally can’t play anything? The solution is learning short, really fun, cool sounding riffs from your favorite bands.
- How to use a simple device to massively increase the speed of your chord changes: There’s a little tool that mast guitar players don’t use, and as a result they stay stuck playing everything slow because it’s easier. This little device will help you speed up little by little so you can play fast, slow and everything in between.
